Fashion Frenzy Friday #2

Hello :)

So here are some trends for spring I am in love with! Even though where I live, snowed all day today :( and I just bought new sandals! What a disappointment... oh well.

I love love love bright colored shoes! Especially the ones from Aldo, they are a reasonable price too! I am too tall for heels though... And I also love shoes that have peek a boos holes in it, they are so cute and girly. Gladiators have been a really big summer trend for the past three+ seasons, and are still going strong! They are great for anyone's style.

Second would have to be big floppy hats! I feel like hats are an accessory that isn't really used that often, but when it is, it is awesome! They have a vintage feel to them, which makes them even more trendy!

Next, is cat eye sunglasses. Not much to say about these because they speak for themselves! Vintage, trendy, perfect for everyday.

Last, is big beach bags. Now me being me, I really dislike beaches, so having a beach bag and using it for the beach is not practical. But I feel that more and more people are using bigger tote-like bags for everyday. Like using it instead of a backpack and a purse. It's cute and huge! and excellent for the summer because of the general look and history of them.

Starting Monday, I will be doing a week of PROM!
Monday - Prom Foundation + makeup look (video)
Tuesday - Another makeup look (video)
Wednesday - Another makeup look (video)
Thursday - Maybe a quick and easy hair tutorial, with my little sister as the model (if she will let me) cause she has long thick hair and i have short layered hair, and i can barely put it in a ponytail.
Friday - Prom dresses for every style and every budget

Also, everyday along with a video, I will have extra products and tips for your prom makeup.

I really wanted to do this because through searching (hours and hours) I can't seem to find any fashion/beauty blogs with updated prom fashions. They do change every season people! There also isn't just one generic makeup look for prom... there are many, for many different styles.

So anyways, that is something I am looking forward to doing next week! I have started already :)

FASHION FRENZY FRIDAY #1

What is FFF?
Well, it is going to be a weekly segment on beautybydallas. I will be sharing lots of fashionable ideas and trends, including outfits of the day, my favorite trends, celebrity looks, piece of the week, and even fashion hauls. I will be doing it in video and blog form.

Okay, so this week I picked a few trends I love:
#1: KIMONO JACKETS

KIMONO FF#1
  • inspired by the traditional japanese kimonos, these lightweight, baggy jackets are perfect for throwing on over any summer/spring outfit.
  • floral is especially in right now since it is spring
  • they are best worn over a simple tank, and shorts
  • I actually saw some cute ones at wal-mart today for 16$!
I love how Fergie wore it, I would definitely wear one like that.

#2: CUTOUT/KEYHOLE DRESSES

CUTOUT FF#!

  • these are such cute dresses you can literally wear anywhere, to work, school, a party, formal dinner, or even just the grocery store!
  • the cutout pieces add its own little accessory, which I think you wouldn't have to even wear any necklaces or bracelets
  • many different styles ranging from edgy to girly, makes it uniques for everyone
I really fell in love when I saw Katy Perry wearing one awhile ago:

I hope you enjoyed :)

Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette Review + Swatches

Hello beauties :)
So I went out and purchased myself some rainbow shadows! I got a ton from MAC and then I got a Kat Von D palette. It was so wonderful I had to do a review and swatches!

This palette is sold at Sephora stores and Sephora.com for 43$

  • The eyeliner isn't my favourite, I thought I would like it when I first looked at it, but then I used it, and yeah, not my fave. I do, however like the consistency of the actual product, but it's just mainly the color I'm not a fan of.
  • As for the shadows, I do love them all except for "Mad Max". The texture is super weird, it's like a cream, but its not. That makes no sense, but its just a weird texture.
  • My favorite would have to be "Marya" it is such a beautiful sheer pink, that is pearlized. I love it in the inner corner of my eyes, so glistening.

I would definitely recommend this product if you are looking for some new colors, or just want to liven up your makeup! It's worth the price in my opinion, and it's travel friendly!

Thanks, and have a great day :)

Rainbow Shadows...

Hi!! So with me trying to expand my makeup collection, I have realized that I have way too many neutrals and not enough color! Even though I tend to wear more colorful bright makeup, my colors are limited. I only have the Coastal Scents 88 Matte and the Coastal Scents Prism palettes. I mean there really is nothing wrong with them, and I would recommend them for beginners, which is when I got mine. But now that my skills are 100 times more advanced, I need more colors!
I have been researching different palettes, that have more colors, and I have been looking at just individual shadows as well. For the price and amount of color selection, I have determined that there are only a few brands that would be worth buying. And then there are a few that would be a waste of money.

Urban Decay:
Pros:
-excellent selection of neutrals
-great quality
-great reviews
Cons:
-expensive for amount of color range
-limited color selection
-barely any matte shades

Kat Von D:
Pros:
-affordable
-great reviews
-good color selection
Cons:
-some palettes have cream shadows (im not a fan)
-not all palettes are sold in store

MAC:
Pros:
-huge color selection
-tons of locations and has free shipping online
-available in pan and in pots
-offers different finishes
-great reviews
Cons:
-pricey (11.50 for one pan!)

Sugar Pill:
Pros:
-excellent vibrant colors
-comes in smaller palettes (great for traveling)
-great reviews
Cons:
-Pricey (4 shadows for 36$)
-pricey shipping
-only has 2 different palettes

Inglot:
Pros:
-huge color range
-excellent reviews (xsparkage.com)
Cons:
-doesn't sell all products online
-shipping is expensive
-products are pricey

Sleek Makeup:
Pros:
-huge color selection
-includes neons (me likey!)
-lots of palettes to choose from
Cons:
-not FDA approved
-doesn't ship to Canada

Makeup Forever:
Pros:
-lots of color selection (probably more then MAC)
-already a brand I like and trust
-great reviews
Cons:
-expensive! (19$ for one shadow!)

So in the end of all this, I was hoping to get a few of the Sleek Makeup palettes, but they don't ship here :(
I think I will be getting 1 or 2 Kat Von D palettes, and a bunch of MAC shadows. It seems like the best idea.
I hope this helped people, I know it helped me decide!
